The Power Of Community
Jan 09, 2023Enhancing your mental and physical health as well as personal performance through science-based strategies and applied neuroscience in a community setting will be tremendously effective and efficient but also a lot of fun. On my own journey recovering from chronic pain and juggling many roles as a business owner and mother of three, being in groups of like-minded people over the years has helped me tremendously in my recovery, defining my purpose, and helped me gain faster clarity of what I want and need to feel my best self. The support that I received and the support I was able to give to other group members is a two-way win for our health and well-being. Sharing in a group and being exposed to different perspectives creates a vast variety of new options for the next steps to create or keep the momentum in one's own life going. Gaining new insights and knowledge stimulates growth. A community is rich in resources brought in by all of the members. Especially when it comes to health there is no "one-size-fits-all". Learning what worked for others may give a new starting point for one's own path. 10+ doctors had no solution for my chronic pain and over the years I accumulated a wealth of knowledge from other people with similar experiences or knowledge of possible solutions. Yes, it was a lot of trial and error since scientific research was not up to par yet. Today we know so much more about how the brain and body functions and what self-care is needed for health and overall well-being. Better health = higher personal performance.
We also know that connections among people and a deeper sense of belonging are vital for our health and well-being. Community participation creates empowerment. When people feel empowered, they feel a sense of control and confidence enabling them to influence positive change. We all know that life has its ups and downs, and a strong community can provide valuable support, accountability when needed, and reinforcement for a positive mindset.
My vision has been to create a safe space where holistic self-care and personal development create the foundation to empower you to live to your fullest potential with joy.
