Best Breathing Drill to Calm Down
Nov 01, 2022There are many beneficial breathing exercises but according to research cyclic sighing, also known as physiological sighing, has been shown to be the most effective for fast calming, sleep, and anxiety. It is a fantastic drill to reset the O2 and Co2 balance.
If you are feeling stressed or more alert, this drill can be done 1-3 times to adjust to the current situation.
For sleep and anxiety, his breathing drill is done ideally for 5min per day. It does not matter what time of day but consistently performing it every day is needed to experience the full benefits.
Cyclic Sighing
- Sit tall.
- Perform two sharp inhales through the nose.
- Followed by a long (about 6 counts) sigh/exhale through the mouth.
- Perform cycles for 5 minutes one time per day.
